THERE ARE SEVERAL BUILDINGS IN ST JAMES that have been left empty for too long.
THE BAKERY Shop in St James Park Road is one. This is full of rubbish, which is a fire hazard and attracts rats. Homeless people are starting to sleep there.
ANOTHER neglected building is a boarded up house on Weedon Road. Without any maintenance houses start to deteriorate and can cause damp in the houses next door.
IT’S TIME something was done to put these buildings back into use, and if the owners aren’t able to maintain their buildings, they need to be told to sell them.
ALL IT takes is one rotten building to drag down a whole street. I’m taking these issues up with the Borough Council.
