A KEY Lib Dem achievement in the Coalition has been securing the future of Britain’s Post Office network.

Business Secretary Vince Cable MP has secured funding of £1.34 billion for Britain’s post offices and a Government commitment that there will be no programme of post office closures under this Coalition.

Jill Hope said: “We are no longer closing Post Offices as happened under Labour.

“We want the Post Offices to be the ‘Government’s front office’ and offer more services and not fewer.

“We want to persuade all banks to sign up to allow access to bank accounts at Post Offices.

“The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, which includes NatWest, has already signed up last year”.
