The scandal of flytippers bringing their rubbish into St James – let’s catch them!

by Jill Hope on 1 June, 2014

PEOPLE ARE BRINGING RUBBISH INTO ST JAMES James from outside the area and dumping it in the private alleyways behind the houses.

LOCAL residents have had enough of this. Because it’s private land, the council can’t just clear it away like flytipping in public areas.

1. If you spot people dumping rubbish, take a photo on your phone of them and their vehicle registration and send it to Jill with the date and time of when you saw it. These criminals must be reported to the police.

2. Local residents have told Jill Hope they want their alleyways to have gates. She is already working on schemes for a couple of areas.

3. Jill Hope is fixing community clean-ups for people who have a lot of rubbish in their alleyway. A group of local residents arrange a day, get gloves, litterpickers and sacks, gather all the rubbish together and drag it out of the private alleyways onto a public area where it can be collected by the council. Do you want to do this in your alleyway?
