THANKS TO NEIGHBOURHOOD WARDEN LORRAINE HEMMINGTON for arranging for some signs to go up in St James reminding cyclists that they should not ride on the pavement in the area. The request followed complaints from local residents – drivers exiting their drive to get to the road, and dog-walkers who have been startled by the silent approach of a cyclist on the pavement.
The ideal solution would be a dedicated lane for cyclists on the road itself but that’s not going to happen overnight – so please don’t ride on the pavement!
