Well, well, well! Just a few short weeks after we told the Conservative administration at the county council that it was a really bad idea to charge small businesses £58 an hour for Trading Standards advice, they’ve decided to drop it for newish businesses (up to 18 months old) and for businesses with fewer than 3 sets of premises….
When the Lib Dems, The Federation of Small Businesses and the Chamber of Commerce protested about these charges and asked scrutiny to reconsider we were all ridiculed, now they have finally realised that we were right. Ah well, sometimes it takes a while for the penny to drop – some of these councillors are getting on a bit…
