Lib Dem Councillor Richard Church, who is the Cabinet member responsible commented: “We have been waiting a long time for these plans to be developed, and I am delighted that they will be out there for the public to see at last.
“The extension of the Grosvenor Centre is essential to really revitalise the town centre.
“I hope that as many people as possible will view these plans and let us know what they think.”
“The opportunity to secure a £350 million investment in our town centre, transforming the retail offering, is vital to the attract thousands of shoppers who currently go elsewhere.”
The proposal for Stagecoach to vacate the bus station is now under discussion, and that paves the way for the demolition of the bus station, to be replaced with a new, attractive and welcoming bus interchange.
Temporary bus station facilities will be available near the old facility during the re-building operation.Leave a comment
